Jamie’s Review:
*Possible spoiler*

I LOVE this story!!! I can’t give it enough stars or stress how this isn’t a typical young adult romance story!

While this story starts out like some of the other typical stories you read, it grows into a plot that holds SO much more than what you expected. Hayes and Mac are two high school students that lead very different life styles and are definitely from two different sides of the tracks in their small town. Hayes is the typical football player jock that likes to party and sleep around. Mac comes from a very rough home lifestyle but still works hard to succeed and be the best person she can be. They finally overcome some fears and become the best couple you could hope for but then it’s shattered.

I can’t stress how much I loved Hayes and his personality throughout this story! Of course, that’s after he meets Mac. He goes against the grain and pursues the girl that isn’t what everyone else expects and follows his own path, which can be tough as a HS boy, especially in a public spotlight.

Mac, oh this poor sweet girl! I HATE her parents but love her and her strength. This entire story speaks volumes about how girls can survive and overcome some pretty terrible and serious obstacles in life even at such a young age. Mac shows silent strength, hope, and grace in what she goes through throughout this entire story. To me, she is the epitome of a heroine for females to look at and see that a bad situation or several bad situations do not define who you are and that you can be anyone you want to be.

I won’t lie, there were a few points you are like “OMG, why?!” or “Seriously?!” BUT, it makes it real. No one I know led a perfect and stupid decision free life at 17-18 years old. So, with that said, I love the realism in this story up to the last page.

This is a must read story and I promise you’ll love Mac and Hayes. I feel like this is J.D.’s break-through novel and is the perfect gem of a book to add to your bookshelves or kindle “bookshelf.”

Paula’s Review:
I received this book in exchange of an honest review.

I really loved this book and I couldn’t put it down. It is a great love story about 2 different people. It is about a girl Mackenzie, who has lived a rough life and is poor and Hayes comes from a wealthy known family in the town and if he does something everyone knows about it.

Mackenzie tried not to like Hayes, but he just pulls her in more and more. Hayes treated her well and wanted to do whatever he could to make her happy. Well, things happen and they grow apart.

If you want to know what happens to Mackenzie and Hayes, I suggest read it. You will not be disappointed in reading this! This was one of the best books I have read in a long time and I can’t wait to read more from J.D. Rivera!
